biggeralways-on display (can be changed to raise to wake but honestly AOD is great) SE is still good if none of that is worth the price bump for you. I think that an Apple Watch Series 8 is probably the best AW for most people. If you can afford the AW Series 8 get it over the AW SE 2.
Eveningroutine is as it was: take watch off (at 60%) charge it, shower, kids routine. Go to bed and put the watch on again (98% yesterday). Wake up with 85% or so. Charg it to 100% during the morning routine (this bit is new comparing with Garmin) and leave the house with 100%. In sum, not regretted at all - on the contrary.
Whichsounds ridiculous for an always on display. I’ve been ill the last few days and unable to sleep and every time I look over to my phone to see the time, the always on display has turned off and I have to tap the phone to turn the screen back on. I don't care for always-on display, or ECG, or anything else that the S6/S7 has over the SE. It's the perfect one for me. As the others said, don't get S3, that actually is a step or two behind the times.
No I'm good with the wrist flick. I use tilt to wake. If the watch is facing away from me, it doesn't matter if the screen is on. If it's facing me, it turns on. With the battery life as bad as it is, I can't imagine wasting it when you can't even see the display.
TheAOD was added to bring the Apple Watch to parity with regular mechanical and digital watches. With those, you just have to glance down at your wrist to see the time. However, Apple Watches prior to the Series 5 required that you use a more deliberate “flicking” motion in order to wake the screen.
